JEYANKONDA VINAYAGAR HIGH SCHOOL – NACHIYAPURAM – SIVAGANGAI DISTRICT

On 13.08.2019, Khan Academy Tamil Multimedia Classroom Program was implemented in Jeyankonda Vinayagar High School, Nachiyapuram at Sivagangai District by Vetrivel Foundation.

Jeyankonda Vinayagar High School is located near the Nachiyapuram bus stand and it is 15-20 km away from Karaikudi. Due to space restrictions, the school has been separated into two – Primary and High school. This Primary section is located in a walkable distance. Previously around 400 to 500 students studied in this school. Due to the arrival of private schools, strength has reduced to 280. In each and every standard around 45 students are studying. Only 9th std has 2 sections (76 students)  and other standards are having only one section. Students are coming from places around Nachiapuram like Kambanoor, Elangudi, Thenkarai, Siravayal, Pudur, Thulavoor, Kilaayapatti and others. Teachers are from Nachiapuram, Thirupatthur and Karaikudi. Jeyankonda Vinayagar High School has van facility to pick up and drop students. (50% students are using van facility others are using their own mode of transport/town bus). There are 9 teachers are working (HeadMaster, 3 Male, 4 Female teachers) and a non teaching staff.

On the day of our implementation, the district collector came as a chief guest for the opening of digital classroom. On behalf of Vetrivel foundation, our employee Mrs. Vijayalakshmi gave banner containing  the details of sponsors, flash drives containing Maths, Science educational videos, a UPS system and a television to the school headmaster. Students of 1st to 4th of Primary school watched some of our videos and enjoyed. The district collector Mr. Jeyakandhan started our Khan Academy Tamil multimedia classroom program and gave a speech in the auditorium.

Mr. Sekar, Principal of the school, conveyed his gratitude to Vetrivel foundation and to the N. M. T. M Family, who sponsored for the Khan Academy Tamil Multimedia Classroom Program in their school.

The teachers asked for the videos for Seiyul parts and they are also expecting videos for 9th and 10th classes. The school teachers conveyed their wishes to Vetrivel foundation and hoped that the strength of the school would increase because of this Khan Academy Tamil multimedia classroom program.
