Khan Academy Tamil Multimedia Class Room Implementation – Social Service League School
Report on BATM Project – Khan Academy Tamil Multimedia Kit Installation Process in Social Service League Primary School, Mylapore
After our successive installations in Kesingan and Kundrathur. We proceeded to our 3rd School Social Service League Primary School, situated inside the very famous Queen Mary’s Women’s College Premises.
Deepak, Staff member of Vetrivel Foundation initiated the installation process by delivering the Samsung 40 inch LED TV, the Seagate 500 GB External hard drive and the Banner holding the Logos of the Sponsors. Technician from Samsung has been informed about the installation process to wall mount the Tv for safer handling. Best Battery Company installed the Luminous Inverter with 150 Ah Tubular Batteries for backup of power incase of power drop.
It was started on the Middle of the day when children were set out for the midday meals in the school, so that children will not be disturbed. We were invited by the Headmistress Mrs.Amirtha Gowri and Mrs.Bhooma, teacher of the school who assisted us in the installation process. The Samsung Executive started his work on wall mounting the Tv. It took a couple of minutes, In the meanwhile Inverter Engineer Mr.Vasanth reached the school with the Inverter and Battery Set.
Simultaneously both the installation went on. After which the Seagate 500GB External Hard Drive’s Connection has been established. We also fitted a stainless steel hanging tray for keeping the Hard drive safer. The Hard Drive containing 500 plus videos was tested for best operating with the TV. It supported the TV Configurations well. Banner was erected to the adjacent side of the Multimedia Kit.
After the entire installation is over. Deepak from Vetrivel Foundation Handed over the Multimedia Kit to the Headmistress of the School. A memorable snap was taken on that occasion. As soon as the Children returned after finishing the Lunch, they were allowed to take up the Multimedia Class. Children were eager to take up the class, they too were raised questions to answer on the middle of the class. We also received a thanking letter from the Headmistress of the school. They also asked for some other rhymes for the kindergarten children, so that they can grasp it in an effective manner. We promised them for our next visit with the rhymes for the children and with some more videos, with that note we left the school.
