Khan Academy Tamil Multimedia Class Room Implementation – Sri Sarada Middle School

Report on Chennai, West Mambalam, Sri Sarada Middle School BATM Project – Khan Academy Tamil Multimedia Kit Installation Process.

After our successful completion of Mayiladuthurai nearby schools, we again focused on a Chennai School, which was an old school running for a prolonged number of years. It was severely affected during the flood times. It was quite easy to finish in Chennai, as we purchased most of the products in Chennai. The School was just 15kms from the warehouse, Deepak from Vetrivel Foundation reached the school by 10.00.A.M. in the morning. The Headmistress of the School Mrs.D.Malligai Selvi welcomed us.

Samsung 40 inch LED TV and Seagate 500GB External Hard Drive where transported to the school by Deepak, which were major part of the Khan Academy Tamil Multimedia Kit Installation Process. Previously appointments were fixed with the Samsung Customer Care to wall mount the TV. Once we got the Technician’s official Number from the Customer Care. We rang up them and informed them to reach on time, because their duty was to fix appointments with the customer then has to arrive for the installation. We made their work easy, the executive reached the School around 11.00.A.M., wall mounted the TV and also helped us in fixing a small hanging tray beside the TV. So has to place the External Hard drive in place to be safely settled in an high position.

In the meanwhile, Inverter Technician arrived with the Inverter and Batteries, proceeded the installation process. He connected the batteries with the Inverter and plugged in the TV Socket to the Inverter. Hence the setup was completed, he also tested for the correctness of the installation process and the set the display aside.

After the installation process, we powered on the TV, connected the External Hard Drive with the TV, but unfortunately it doesn’t work well on the TV. An alternative remedy was provided to the School by handing over a 8GB flash drive containing all the videos in it. Deepak then plugged in the Flash Drive, checked the status of the Flash Drive. It worked well in the TV. He then played some videos to check any lags or issues in it, but can’t find one. Deepak then instructed how to play the videos using the remote controller. Deepak also have let the Headmistress to operate on her own to practice the process, so that she could get any confusion in the near future.

Afterwhich, Deepak handed over the Multimedia Kit to Mrs. Malligai Selvi the Headmistress of the School. This great occasion was captured for remembrance and we also received a thanks letter from the the Headmistress of the School. Thanking the Organisations who took great efforts in getting this process successfully done. With that thanks letter received, we signed of the School.
